the soul sisters celebrate!!

It was time to celebrate Jennifer Juniper's 29th birthday!!! She's had several 29th's...but who's counting?...The soul sisters just lllooove to get together :) We had the shindig at my house and I had a lovely champagne punch to greet them. If you'd like to dig out your grandmother's punch bowl the recipe is reeeaally easy....

Champagne Punch

1 12oz.can frozen lemonade- thawed
1 12oz. can frozen limeade- thawed
1 12oz. can frozen orange juice- thawed
1 2 liter ginger ale
1 2 liter champagne
sherbet

Mix juice in punch bowl. Stir in ginger ale, then add champagne. Do not stir. I added an ice ring to keep it chilled.

We got Ms. Juniper all dolled up for the festivities and then had luncheon in the dining room!!! Take note Chip if you're reading this....... I do use the dining room!!! We had my favorite salad, chicken salad croissant sandwiches, watermelon and THE.MOST.DELICIOUS CUPCAKES EEEVVVVVEEER!!!!! from Marzipan Mom.

We sang Happy Birthday and she opened her presents......we kept the rules the same as our Christmas party.....$10 limit/handmade....She loved everything!

I got her her very own canister! Filled with two skirts I sewed for her, earrings and my very own strawberry Pam's Jam....

The cupcakes Marzipam Mom brought were just perfect.......and soooo pretty on this adorable green polka dotted tray.

Ms. Joy crafted a glass tile necklace with Jennifer Junipers bird from the banner of her Hope Studios blog.....hhhhmmmm....wouldn't a cupcake be cute too???? :)

And Ms. Meg whipped up a batch of Pepper Jelly.....we need to descend on her house next for a lesson!!! And to get her up and running in Blogville......she NEEDS a blog!!!! We just have to come up with the perfect name for her.....we insisted that's the hardest part!!

Here's a flattering shot of her trying on one of the skirts...us sisters have a thing for dropping our jeans and trying skirts on!!! Who's next??? :)

And of course I had to have treat bags....I'm the treatgirl!!!!!!! A little bit on the grown up side with mini bottles of vodka and gin!! We girls lllooovve to celebrate!!!! hhhmmmm.....who's next?? :)

I do have to mention that it is my year anniversary for the treatgirl blog!!! sharpies

I just have to give a little shout out to something I love and am thankful for everyday......my Sharpies!!!! Specifically the ultra fine point black Sharpie permanent marker......the one all the way over on the right. I looooovvve them!! I have them all over the place...in my purse, my nightstand drawer, my craft room, my kitchen counter, and my car. I use them every day, all day. They are THE BEST!! I am a super huge list maker and this is my weapon of choice....sometimes my lists have lists and then I have to transfer everything to bigger list...and I know this sounds crazy, but I sometimes write stuff on my list just to cross it off...with.my.sharpie.marker.....I can see you're getting the hang of it :) I use the super big fat one for all of my ebay packages I send out....I even have a little one for my keychain! It's sooo cute! I don't know where I'd be without them! Treat yourself to a few....I know you'll lllooooove them!!!!

The Next Survivor Series

Six married men will be dropped on and island with one car and three kids each for a six weeks.

Each kid will play two sports and either take music or dance classes....there will be no fast food.

Each man must take care of his three kids; keep his assigned house clean, correct all homework, and complete science projects, cook, do laundry, and pay a list of 'pretend' bills with not enough money.

In addition, each man will have to budget in money for groceries each week. Each man must remember the birthday of their friends and relatives and send cards out on time...no emailing!!

Each man must also take each child to a doctor's appointment, a dentist appointment and a haircut. He must also make one unscheduled trip to the school with a forgotten lunch or homework assignment.

He must also make cookies or cupcakes for a social function...They must also be responsible for decorating his own assigned house, planting flowers outside and keeping presentable at all times.

The men will only have access to television when the kids are asleep and all chores are done. The men must shave their legs, wear makeup daily, adorn himself with jewelry, wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes, keep fingernails polished and eyebrows groomed.

During one of the six weeks, the men will have to endure severe abdominal cramps, back aches, and have extreme unexplained mood swings but never once complain or slow down from other activities.

They must attend weekly school meetings, church and find time at least once a week to spend the afternoon at the park or a similiar setting. They will need to read a book each night to the kids, feed them, dress them, and brush their teeth.

A test will be given at the end of the six weeks and each father must know all of the following:
Each child's birthday, height, weight, shoe size, clothes size, and doctor's name. Also the child's weight at birth, length, time of birth and length of labor. Each child's favorite color, middle name, favorite snack, favorite song, favorite drink, favorite toy, biggest fear, and what they want to be when they grow up.

The kids vote them off of the island based on performance. The last man wins only if ...he still has enough energy to be intimate with his spouse at a moments notice!!!

If the last man does win, he can play again and again for the next 18-25 years eventually earning the right to be called Mother!!!!

rainy day

We've been having our share of rain here. So this morning I thought we'd do some fun things without having the t.v. on. It was a nice morning of being together, in the rain, in our jammies!! Our first activity was sorting buttons.I have a big, big colleciton down in my craft playground, so we brought them out and got sorting. This can keep a kiddo busy for a loooong time....there are a lot of different ways to sort them and he tried a bunch!

Look what we found in our button collection...3 religious medals, tokens to the games at a local restaurant, some paper clips and screws, a couple of keys (I have NO idea where these came from. I held them in my hand and tried to imagine what they could open.....) and even a random thingy to hold and ace bandage together.

I'm on a mission to teach Cubby to tie his shoes before he goes to kindergarten in the fall, so I made him a little practice board to help him along.......

We busted out the viewmaster that we forgot was in the van.

....and the assorted collection of discs.

Then Cubby turned into Picasso!! He lllooooovves to paint...ANYTHING! A day to paint makes him sooo happy.

We added the paintings to his gallery up in his room. I punched some holes in the paper plates he painted so he could hang them up. We had no plans to do any of this when we got up this rainy day... I love when days just "happen".

ready, set, GOOOOOO!!!

It's here!!!!! D-day!!!!!! The day we head to Disney!! Cubby and I have been the most excited for the past week....with the older ones catching up fast the past day or two. What better way to start the day than to sugar up with these Mickey Mouse donuts!!!....thanks for the idea Ms. Juniper!! :) Just put them together with toothpicks!

Of course every morning at 8:30 we're tuned in to one of Cubby's favorite shows....Mickey Mouse Clubhouse....perfect to set the mood!

And look who else is ready to go....PUP!!! She even has her "ears"!!

A few treats to keep Cubby happy on the flight...hopefully keeping the how-long-til-we-get-there's to a minimum...everything from the Dollar Tree. Cindy Lou printed some clip art off the computer to color.

Look at this pile of stuff!!!!!!!! Every vacay I say I'm going to take less...but it seems the earlier I start laying stuff out, the more I throw on the pile! And look T. , I even brought my exercise band with me! Hoping to get a little something in while I'm gone!! :)

Here is that same pile packed all nice and neat into these terrific zipper bags from Eagle Creek. My sister is hooked on these with all of her international travel. She treated me to a set and I lllooove them!! Everything is all neat and organized. No digging for stuff.

Our bags are packed we're ready to go!!!!! Of course I'll have the the vacay recap when we get back...but until then check back....I have some fun stuff lined up for the week....as well as my almost famous "What is it?? Wednesday?!!"
