Scrapbook Sunday

It's Scrapbook Sunday and look at these super cute spring flowers I want to share with you....pretty pastel colors and a little rhinestone in the center...I was supposed to be shopping for vases for the centerpieces at my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary at a GREAT craft super store not too far from me....but I got sidetracked down the scrapbooking aisle and my sister in law couldn't find me!

And look what I got for Mother's Day a few weeks ago....the whole collection of Martha Stewart glitter and a glue pad!! I'm soooo excited to try them out.....just think of it....all of my stamps can now be GLITTERY!! Yeah for the Treatgirl!!! Of course I'll let you know how amazing they are after I try them out :)

Creamy Chicken Penne

This a quick and easy little recipe I thought I'd share with you...my family really liked it and it takes just about 20 minutes to put together. Here is what you need:

2 cups penne pasta, uncooked
3/4 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
1/2 cup chopped onions
1 pkg. (6 oz.) snow peas
1 small red pepper, chopped
2 tsp. minced garlic
2 Tbsp. butter
1 Tbsp. flour
1-1/2 cups milk
4 oz. cream cheese, cubed
1/2 cup grated romano cheese
1 Tbsp. fresh, chopped parsley

Here's how to make it:

Cook pasta as directed on package. Meanwhile, cook chicken and onions in hot oil in a large skillet for 6-8 minutes or until chicken is done...stirring frequently. Add snow peas, red pepper and garlic; cook and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat; cover to keep warm.

Melt butter in medium saucepan. Stir in flour until well blended. Gradually stir in milk. Bring to boil; cook on medium heat 2 minutes or until thickened, stirring constantly. Add cream cheese, grated cheese, salt and black pepper; cook 1-2 minutes or until cream cheese is completely melted and sauce is well blended, stirring constantly.

Drain pasta; place in large bowl. Add chicken mixture and sauce; toss to coat and top with parsley.

Scrapbook Sunday

Not a whole lot of time for scrapbooking over here lately.....but I've had good intentions!!! Here are a few pages I whipped together and thought I would share with you.....

And this page of the three kids for Cindylou's book brings back such wonderful memories of a PER.FECT day at my cousin's...the Gerberagirl's family camp....we all had SUCH A FUN DAY.....and it was great to scrap about it!!! The page is kinda on the simple side for me style-wise....but I like to slip a few of those in.....I think it balances the book out.....and they sometimes take a little bit less time....I've come to realize I may NEVER get caught up if I'm spending HOURS on a singe page :)

Why I Started

Come along with me while I reminisce.....I need you to because I am entering a blog giveaway over at Ordinary Miracles of Life...click HERE to check it out....My bloggy friend Wendy asks the question why we started blogging......and it is very fitting...because actually it was my 2 year bloggiversary on Mother's Day....I've been meaning to get my act together to celebrate as well..but with my laptop in the shop for so long I was out of commission.....so check back...I may just have to do something fun!

Anyhoo.....it's pretty remarkable that the same person who inspired her, inspired me as well.....One of my soul sisters Ms. Jennifer Juniper!! Actually all of my soul sisters, pictured above....have inspired and loved me along the way....each of them having amazing blogs as well...I was at Marzipan's house for a coffee one morning....invited by a mutual friend and Jennifer came up to me and I didn't even realize I knew her... Then she pulled her hair up in a ponytail and said, " I stand in front of you in kickboxing!" We all look so different with our hair and makeup done and real clothes on that I didn't even recognize her. And then it all began......I was reading all of their fun, witty, crafting, cooking, baking blogs....learning things along the way...I kinda wanted one of my own...but didn't think I could do it. I mean REALLY...what could I possibly have to say???????

Well, apparently A LOT!!!!! I love to scrapbook for my kiddos, I write to them in journals and save nearly every cute and important thing that relates to their lives....but this little blog is just for me! It is a story of my live, things that make me happy and sad...crafts, recipes, ideas, and stuff that really isn't important either...but I love it.......My family got me a laptop two years ago for a Mother's Day/Birthday combo gift and the first thing I did was set up my blog....all by myself! And believe you me.......if I can do it...anyone can!! Go ahead.....if you've been lurking around reading blogs morning, noon and night...start one yourself, it's so much fun and you'll make so many wonderful friends along the way!

Favorite Friday

Wow! It feels great to be doing a Favorite Friday post after a 3 week hiatis too! This week I'm featuring these adorable little plates and rack that my mom treated me to when she was up visiting a few weeks ago. I think most people would call them appetizer plates......but not the treat girl!!!!

They are cupcake plates to me!!!!! I saw something similar in a cute little gift shop when I was away in Atlanta a few weeks ago...but they were sold individually and didn't come with a little rack.......these are waaaay more adorable!! Wouldn't you agree???? :)

Well.......It's About Time!

Peeps!!! I'm BACK!!!!!!! Yeah for me!!!!!!! I feel so great!! I've missed you all, and have had soooooooo much to say!!! First of all, I want to thank you all for staring at those cupcake measuring spoons for so long.....even I was getting sick of them!!! Second....a BIG HUGE THANK YOU to Ms. Joybeadworks!!! She is my real life friend and she happened to knock on my door with a treat for me...just as I was sitting down to our big computer in the study to try and figure out how to load pictures into it so I could start blogging again....she breezed in, plugged my card reader into a USB port....made a couple of clicks.....and VOILA! I'm here!!!! Thanks so much Miss!!

Sooooo, Anyhoo.......I have so many things to share with you......life without my laptop hasn't been easy...this must be what my teenagers feel like when I take away their cellphones!! But I should have it back by the end of the month....so I'm not promising too much in the blogging department...it is CRAZY to be couped up in here strapped to this chair...but I love you guys and I'll try my hardest!

Well.....let's start with the A.MAZ.ING necklace I got for Mother's Day from the kiddos...My friend Ms. Joy has them for sale in her Etsy shop....click HERE to see them on her blog. ummmm, I have to confess...I kinda orchestrated the whole thing.....I got the forms from Joy...made the kids sit down and color them in.....wrote a note saying to call Chip on his cell phone to make arrangements, dropped the forms off in her mailbox, and actually answered the door when she dropped it back off.(sometimes a girl just has to do these things! ) But let me tell you I was SUR.PRISED when I opened it up and saw how beautiful it was!!!!!!!!! I truly love it and will treasure it always! ps...this picture just doesn't do it justice.....it is waaaay prettier in real-life!

Wheh!! It feels so great to be back!!!! I'll be back soon!!!!
